دخلنا إلى غرفة البلياردو لتناول كأس من النبيذ، وهناك التقينا بنادلٍ خبيرٍ وودودٍ يُدعى أحمد زهران. شرح لنا تاريخ البار/القصر بتفصيلٍ دقيق، واستمع إلى اهتماماتنا بالنبيذ، وقدّم لنا نوعين منه لتجربتهما – اختياراتٌ ممتازة. يتحدث الإنجليزية بطلاقة، ومن الواضح أنه نادلٌ موهوبٌ للغاية. كانت هذه من أجمل تجاربنا في فندق ماريوت، وشهادةٌ حقيقيةٌ على كرم وضيافة الشعب المصري.

We came in for a glass of wine to the billiard room and met the most knowledgeable and congenial bartender named Ahmed Zahran. He gave us an in depth history of the bar/palace and listened to our interests in wine and gave us two types of wine to try – excellent choices. His English is excellent (speaks fluently) and obviously a very talented bartender. One of our favorite experiences here at the Marriott. A true testament to the honor and kindness of the Egyptian people.
