Beware: The Bill Doesn’t Match the Menu Prices.

I ordered three dishes:
• Spicy potatoes ($5): so unbearably spicy that they were simply inedible. Truly a terrible dish.
• Salmon carpaccio ($9): at first glance it looked beautiful on a large plate, but the moment I lifted a slice with my fork, I realized the salmon was sliced nearly transparent. The portions were so thin that one piece of salmon on a simple sushi roll would contain more fish than the entire plate.
• Mushroom risotto ($15): the only dish that was acceptable, but still nothing special — very mediocre.

The total for all three items was $29, and the menu showed prices both in local currency and in USD. I received the bill in local currency, paid without double-checking, and left. Only a few days later, when I checked my mobile banking, I discovered that the transaction had been processed as $42.

How $29 turned into $42 remains unclear — whether they added items I didn’t order or included unauthorized charges or tips, I cannot know since I did not take the receipt. What I do know is that this should never happen in a restaurant that respects its customers.

On top of this, the place leaves a very poor impression: dated early-2000s interior, cheap plastic flowers, thick rain plastic sheets, and old-fashioned heavy leather menus that have been considered outdated in the restaurant world for the past twenty years.

Very disappointed. Shameful experience.

مطعم إيطالي على النيل تجربة جميله! المكان جميل وصاخب، والإطلالة جميلة على النيل . لازم تحجزون مسبق لأنه دايم زحمة. الموظفين لطيفين ومتعاونين، والخدمة سريعة ومحترفة ، والاسعار تعتبر مرتفعه. جربت عندهم:
‏ • La Burrata: 9/10، الطعم موزون ومميز.
‏ • 88 Tacos with Shrimp: 1000/10، رهيب بشكل مو طبيعي!
‏ • Risotto con Porcini e Pecorino: 1000/10، النكهة غنية والطماطم المجفف أضاف طعم جدا جميل ومميز.
‏ • Gamberoni Alla Griglia: 10/10، الجمبرى طازج ومطبوخ بإتقان.

أنصح الكل يجربه إذا كانوا يحبون الأكل الإيطالي.

This review might be unfair to some people, it all depends on your preferences

ممكن الريفيو دة يكون غير منصف حسب كل واحد بيفضل ايه

It was recommended to me by a lot of friends who are into, nightlife, loud music, dancing, and partying

Valet parking is available

فيه ناس ممكن تركن لك العربية

The place is located inside a building with other businesses and restaurants

المكان موجود في مبنى مع مطاعم تانية

You need to take the elevator to the place, or the stairs (upper level)

فيه أسانسير وممكن تاخد السلم (هو في الدور العلوي)

They have a minimum charge, I think 750 tax and service not included, but please check the prices with them before you go

فيه حد أدنى للفرد 750 من غير ضريبة وخدمة، بس لو سمحتوا تأكدوا من المبلغ قبل ما تروحوا

No bathroom in the restaurant, you have to go one floor down to use the restroom

مفيش تواليت في المكان، لازم تنزل الدور اللي تحت لو حتستخدم الحمام

I went on a Tuesday, and according to my friends and people “Tuesday” is a party night in most of them restaurants/clubs

رحت يوم ثلاثاء ، وحسب اللي سمعته من الأصدقاء، أيام الثلاثاء بتكون ليلة احتفال في معظم الأماكن من النوعية دي

Reservation is a must, and it’s not easy to get in

المكان بالحجز، وحسب اللي سمعته مش سهل الحصول على حجز

From what I heard; people consider it to be “fancy”

اللي سمعته إن الناس بتعتبره مكان “راقي”

If you don’t like smoking, drinking, crowdedness, loud music, this is not a place for you

لو مبتحبش تدخين، شرب، زحمة، موسيقى عالية، المكان دة مش مناسب لك بالليل

The moment I walked in I felt like leaving as the place was jammed, smoking was bothering me a lot as I’m not a smoker, nor do I drink

اللحظة اللي دخلت فيها المكان حسيت اني عايزة أمشي، المكان زحمة جدا، السجاير كانت مضايقاني جدا، وأنا لا مدخنة ولا بشرب كحوليات

The crowd ranges from late 20s up to 60+

الناس اللي موجودة كانت في أعمار ما بين أواخر العشرينات وال ٦٠ وما فوق

Staff were nice but don’t expect too much on a busy night

العاملين كويسين بس متتوقعش كثير في ليلة مزدحمة

The food was amazing, everything tasted great, we were a big group of people and i tried all the dishes and everything was beyond good

الأكل كان وهمي ورائع، كنا مجموعة كبيرة وكل الأكل اللي نزل جربته وكان رائع

Something I found funny yet semi cute, is that the bodyguards/door person was taking his job extremely serious making sure NO one enter without reservation

الحاجة اللي لقيتها كوميدية وكيوت شوية هو إن اللي على الباب واخد الموضوع جد، عشان ممنوع أي حد مش حاجز يدخل

I’ll tell you my honest opinion;

* do I consider this place fancy?
– According to my standards it’s a not

* هل بعتبر المكان دة راقي؟
– بالنسبة لمقاييسي لا

* Would I go back there on a busy night?
– Absolutely not

*هل ممكن أروح هناك تاني في يوم زحمة؟
– مستحيل

* Would I go back there for the food during the day?
– Absolutely yesssss, food was great and I loved it.

* هل ممكن أروح تاني عشان الأكل بس أروح بالنهار؟
– طبعا وجدا كمان

Let me be fair, almost the entire group with few exceptions loved the place and the environment,

خليني أكون منصفة، معظم المجموعة اللي كانت معايا باستثناء كم حد، حبوا المكان والجو جدا

If you are into nightlife, like loud music, English music and dancing, this place would be great for you, add to all that great food.

لو بتحب السهر، والموسيقى العالية (موسيقى أجنبي)، وبتحب الرقص، المكان حيعجبك جدا، ضيف على كل دة الأكل الرائع

I will update my review after I go there on a less busy day, so I can enjoy the food
