I don’t understand what it means for a government office to be like this. Employees come and go as they please, there are no clear required documents, every employee makes a different request, and then they expect us to stay home for a week, two, three—no problem—just so they can come and inspect the place. There’s no coordination, no communication to know the time and prepare. Are we supposed to quit our jobs and stay home indefinitely?

Be patient, the employees are treated as if they own the office, with no regard for the fact that they’re dealing with the public who are the reason for their salaries and livelihoods. There’s yelling and shouting, and the girl at the computer, named Fatima, threw my printout down and looked at me like she wanted to curse. The person responsible for the stamp, in the manager’s absence, refused to write anything by hand, and every word you say sends you back to the window where that domineering girl is. In short, the treatment is garbage.
