⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable Stay at Badr Pyramids Inn — They Truly Treat You Like Family!
From the moment we arrived at Badr Pyramids Inn in Giza, we knew we had chosen the right place.
Mr. Muhammad personally greeted us upon arrival and insisted on carrying our luggage all the way up to our rooftop room. After a long flight from the United States, he gave us time to settle in, unpack, and relax. When we came back out of our room, his staff had prepared fresh fruit juice for us — the Egyptian way of saying, “Welcome.” It was such a simple gesture, but it immediately made us feel at home.
And then there was the view! The rooftop deck overlooks the Pyramids of Giza, and it is absolutely breathtaking. Even better, there are TWO rooftop decks!
We sat with Mr. Muhammad on the upper rooftop to discuss what we wanted to experience during our week in Egypt. I cannot say enough about how much effort this man puts into understanding what you like and dislike before putting together an itinerary. He doesn’t just try to sell you a tour. He listens to you and builds an experience around what YOU want to see.
The itinerary he created for us was absolutely mind-blowing.
We visited Memphis and the incredible statue of Ramses II, Saqqara and its ancient pyramids, and of course the magnificent Pyramids of Giza. We explored Cairo, visited historic religious sites, experienced the markets and hundreds of vendors where we could shop for souvenirs, and even enjoyed a dinner cruise on the Nile. The food, atmosphere, sights, and sounds of the cruise were amazing.
On our final day, we made the roughly 2½-hour trip to Alexandria, where we visited the Catacombs, the incredible Library of Alexandria, and the Qaitbay Citadel. Alexandria was an experience all by itself and a perfect way to finish our trip.
Mr. Muhammad also arranged an AMAZING tour guide for us, a graduate of Cairo University with an incredible amount of knowledge about Egyptian history. It seemed like there wasn’t a single question we could ask that he couldn’t answer. Having someone that knowledgeable with us completely changed the experience because we weren’t simply looking at these incredible places — we were learning the history and stories behind them.
And I HAVE to mention our driver!
The second you leave Cairo Airport, you’ll understand why having an experienced local driver is so important. Cairo traffic is unlike anything we had ever experienced. The number of vehicles on the road is unbelievable, yet our driver made us feel completely safe the entire week.
He wasn’t only an excellent driver. He looked out for us everywhere we went, helped keep overly aggressive vendors and hagglers away, was always on time, and made sure we were comfortable and safe. He stayed with us throughout the week, including our trip to Alexandria and our final ride back to the airport.
When I say these guys go out of their way to make you feel safe, welcomed, and appreciated, that is an understatement.
That is a testament to the type of business Mr. Muhammad and his family run. They don’t make you feel like another hotel guest or another tourist passing through Giza. They make you feel like family.
We came to Egypt wanting to see the pyramids and experience this incredible country. We left with memories that will last a lifetime, and a huge part of that is because of Mr. Muhammad, his family, our guide, and our driver.
