Mental Health Hospital in Helwan

This hospital is a mess; they don’t care about anyone and they abandon patients. How can a hospital not have a psychiatric testing department and then transfer patients to Helwan General Hospital? My mother took my brother there, but he ran away from her because they took him out of the hospital to get him tested at Helwan General Hospital, and he’s been missing from home since morning. May God hold them accountable.

I went to three different offices to pay for one test!

Unfortunately, not all the offices inside the hospital have signs.

Helwan Mental Health Hospital is the largest psychiatric hospital in Greater Cairo after Abbassia Hospital.

It is a government hospital providing mental health services at the standard government-mandated fee of one Egyptian pound. The hospital offers outpatient services for adults in the fields of psychiatry and addiction treatment. It also includes a specialized child psychiatry clinic called “Beit Alwan” (House of Colors), which provides awareness, education, and treatment services for children and their families.

It is also the only hospital with separate inpatient wards for adolescent boys and girls.

The hospital provides good services within the limits of available government resources.
