Hertz Cairo International Airport

Too expensive of a service to receive a vehicle that didn’t have a single good panel. Over $700 for 11 days with “insurance”, and you get a beat up Sentra. Not a single panel without massive dents or scratches. Also the hertz “office” is located in a terminal building that you can’t enter if you land in another terminal (genius). And before all that, I landed at 3am, my reservation was at 2am, I get to the desk and there is no one there, I get someone to call and they take 45 mins to get there. So I end up waiting to 4am till I get a car, and they still do all the paperwork by hand, on paper, with carbon copies, what are we in the 90s still???. The only good thing was that the car’s a/c worked. Oh and don’t expect any hertz programs/coupons/codes or anything to work because they just don’t do that here. Honestly the only reason I booked with hertz is that my employer works with hertz to give us 20% off but nope not here. 3 stars is genuinely generous, only because the vehicle was mechanically sound.

As a Hertz Gold Member and a frequent international traveler, I have rented cars from many locations worldwide. Unfortunately, my recent experience at Cairo International Airport was the worst I have ever had.

I had booked a Nissan Sunny, and the rental appears to have been handled by a subcontractor called Prime Motor operating under the Hertz name.

When I returned the car and asked about my security deposit, the agent informed me that it would be refunded to my bank account within a maximum of one month. However, it has now been almost two months, and I have received nothing.

On **16 February 2026**, an amount of **USD 200** was charged to my credit card as a security deposit. **Until now, this amount has not been returned to my account**, and I have not received any clear explanation about the delay.

I contacted Hertz Egypt several times, but unfortunately I have not received a clear or direct answer about where my money is or when it will be refunded.

Despite this issue, I would like to **sincerely thank Mickel and his colleague** for their honesty and professionalism. My child had accidentally left a tablet in the car, and they kindly found it and returned it to us. Their honesty and support are truly appreciated.

However, the unresolved deposit issue remains very disappointing. Honestly, this will be my **first and last time renting from Hertz Egypt**. In the future, I will seriously consider other companies such as Avis or Sixt, which may provide more reliable service and a clearer refund process.
