Like many others we purchased our carpet from El Sultan on a Viking Cruise in May. We weren’t expecting to purchase one, but the sales people were very helpful in finding one that replaces a very different carpet that we were never really happy with. The sales, shipping and delivery process went very smoothly and the whole process was communicated clearly by Feras.

Our Viking tour guides brought us into this carpet school after we visited the near by pyramids. I found a gorgeous, intricate carpet in silk, but I needed it in a larger size in Egyptian cotton to fit my dining room. I purchased the rug on 12/1/2024, for $10,000.
In April 2025, I was told the carpet was ready, but after seeing it online, it was not the carpet that I had ordered. I was told they would expedite the correct order and give me the 2nd carpet also. I agreed to this arrangement.
In October 2025, I was told my custom carpet would be off the loom shortly, however, I learned that the carpet on the loom was smaller than the one I required.
After a number of very reasonable offers by the El Sultan representative to remedy my situation, I determined it was best to request a full refund to my Visa card. The school’s representative was extremely helpful in securing this for me and I was happy to see this credit on my account. It is very clear to me that this school is a very honest and reputable business. They are people of their word.

While enjoying a Viking Nile River Cruise we had the pleasure of visiting the Elsultan Carpet school Badshein. We were greeted with kind knowledgeable salespeople after an interesting introductory tour and description of all the positive work they help with in their community. Their carpets are works of art and we decided on purchasing several.
The transaction was seamless and the delivery to our home in the USA was just as promised.
Moe was in constant contact throughout the entire delivery process and it arrived in just the same condition as the day we bought it.
In our world today, having things delivered is as commonplace as carrying your purchase home. But something large and heavy from a distant land is not commonplace for our family. But anyone so fortunate to be able to consider a beautiful hand tied rug from elsultan they can rest assured of their satisfaction with the quality, value and durability and especially the service after the sale. It was beyond all expectations!

We had a terrific experience with El Sultan. On a tour of the school, we found a rug design we liked. But it was not available in the size we wanted. They agreed to make it to our specifications and ship it to us once it was completed. We had excellent communication from Mahmoud who kept us informed every step of the way. It arrived this week and we couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend them.
