Had a lovely experience today thanks to a sweet girl named Menna at the cashier. She was super kind, respectful, and had such a warm smile ,totally made my day! I usually stop by for coffee to take a breather from work stress, and having such positive energy really makes a difference. Big thanks to Menna ♥️♥️
The drink options were strange, I tried the Pink boba tea which is not actually boba, it is more of juice jellies which pops and the drink was an imbalance of sour, bitter and sweet. The tiramisu frappe actually puts tiramisu cake in the takeaway cup which is not a good idea since the cake soaks the drink. Thte tiramisu is made from sponge cake so it leaves a rough aftertaste in the throat. I tried blueberry cheesecake and it was a bit dry but it is still delicious. The ambience of the place is acceptable.
Second Cup in Nasr City offers a quiet space for people who want to relax, work, or have a casual meetup.
The atmosphere is calm. You find soft lighting, clean tables, and enough seating for individuals and small groups. The café feels designed for people who want to stay longer. It’s not loud. Music is low, and the crowd is mostly young adults or professionals. If you’re looking for a spot to read, write, or work on a laptop, this place fits.
The menu is wide. It includes coffee-based drinks, teas, smoothies, and desserts. Signature items include the Caramel Corretto, Vanilla Bean Latte, and Frozen Hot Chocolate. The coffee quality is consistent. It’s not the strongest roast in town, but it’s smooth. The iced drinks are good, especially in summer.
Food options include pastries, cookies, croissants, sandwiches, and cakes. The cheesecake and brownie are worth trying. The taste is good, but nothing stands out as special. The croissant sandwiches are filling, but bread can feel too dry if not fresh.
Prices are above average. A regular coffee may cost 70–90 EGP. Iced drinks go above 100 EGP. A slice of cake costs the same as a full meal elsewhere. You’re mostly paying for the ambiance. If you compare to other chains like Starbucks or Cilantro, prices are similar or slightly higher at Second Cup. Refills are not free. Water isn’t offered unless asked.
Service is polite but not fast. During busy hours, expect to wait 10–15 minutes for a drink. Staff are friendly, but not always attentive. Sometimes, you need to go to the counter to follow up. No table service.
Wi-Fi is free but sometimes slow. Outlets are available but limited. If you plan to stay and work, arrive early or you may not get a plug. Air-conditioning works well even during hot days. The bathroom is clean and stocked, but small.
Cleanliness is good. Tables are cleared quickly. Floors are swept. Cups are served in good condition. There’s no sticky surfaces or mess around the counter.
The location in Nasr City is easy to reach. Parking can be hard, especially in the evening. Weekends get crowded from 7 pm onward. Mornings and early afternoons are calmer.
What makes this place attractive is the quiet. It doesn’t feel rushed or chaotic. You don’t get pushed to leave. It’s not ideal if you’re on a tight budget. But if you value peace, comfort, and a decent drink, it delivers.
To sum up:
Pros
Calm atmosphere
Good coffee variety
Comfortable for long stays
Clean and well-maintained
Cons
High prices
Slow service at peak hours
Limited plugs
No unique food offerings
Would I return? Yes, if I want to work in peace or catch up with a friend. Not for a quick coffee on the go. Not if I’m watching my budget.
You should go if you want quiet and don’t mind spending extra for it.
I was genuinely surprised to find out this branch is open 24/7 — such a rare find in Cairo, and incredibly convenient! The service is excellent, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I really enjoy their coffee; it’s consistently good and well-prepared.
What makes this branch even better is its location — it’s right in the heart of Makram Ebeid and close to literally everything. Whether it’s a late-night work session or a casual coffee break, this spot is definitely a favorite. Highly recommended.

It’s not a bad place, but I don’t like the drinks, overpriced for the quality, pretty crowded and noisy most of the time.
