Its a great place with an amazing rooftop view.
The street is not very accessible with the taxis. Rooms are nice but require a few details. The food offered was very good and its just off a busy street in Giza.

Chez l’ami as you can see is right next to the Great Pyramid of Giza but it’s quite far away from Saqqara and many other attractions. It’s also down a small back lane which is not accessable by car. At night from midnight too 7am you couldn’t sleep because of the constant chanting of prayers from nearby. Then during the day the bangingg that shook the whole building. I’m not sure what was going on.
The room was ok but the shower only really had enough hot water for 1. The bed was hard like lieing on a wood board and the fridge in the room had to be unplugged as it was too noisy but even then i could here the noise from the passage way and other rooms as the walls are paper thin.
The area right beside them is rough, you can’t get out of the hotel without being hassled by locals or kids. I had to have my guide with me 24/7 just to be able to go anywhere because the area was so bad.
I didn’t see this sun terrace or veiws of the pyramid that they advertise with on the holiday sites.
The family who run the place are realy nice, helpful and it’s clean.
I wouldn’t stay there again unfortunatley. In my opinion your better off all inclusive with a large hotel. Your maybe better off near a metro station or outside of Cairo close too Saqqara and just traveling in too the Pymids for 1 day.

Location: 10 min walk from the pyramids’ entrance & a very short ride to the new museum. Plenty of uber and other ride share options; it is close to the express road when you want to go to other parts of Cairo. You can see the three big pyramids from the rooftop. The place is very clean and secure; you get a key to the main building entrance in addition to your room/suite. Interestingly the majority of hotels in the area are apartment buildings turned into hotels, which gives it a personalized feel as opposed to massive hotel chain buildings. The main entrance to building is hidden from the main road: you have to walk a narrow alley of about 50 m ( a bit of an inconvenience checking in and out if you have big luggage pieces as most vehicles cannot enter). The best part about the place is the staff! I fully agree with a previous reviewer who felt extra safe as a female traveling alone staying in a place run by women. Very nice, courteous & professional staff, make a delicious Egyptian breakfast to order and delivered to your room or to the rooftop if you prefer. Since we stayed 6 nights, we were offered a free ride from the airport.

the property itself is fine, it has a comfortable atmosphere. the staff is kind, and tried to comfort me when i was a little flustered on my first day of arrival (egypt is quite different from anywhere else i’ve solo traveled). the area isn’t great, but there are many hotels, shops, places to eat, etc. around within walking distance. finding an uber that won’t cancel on you is tricky, but they do offer a private driver, which will be helpful when going back and forth to the airport, although more expensive.
the room i stayed in had two beds, a private balcony, good working AC, and snacks.

We stayed at this hotel for two weeks and had an amazing experience. The family who runs it is incredibly friendly and welcoming. They all made us feel like part of the family, which made our stay really special. The room was clean with a nice balcony with a comfortable bed, and the location was great for exploring. If you’re looking for a place with warm hospitality and a homey feel, this is the spot. We’ll definitely be back! Heartfelt thank you to the whole family there.
