So glad we chose this hostel to stay at. A peaceful place in the middle of the busy downtown Cairo. The service was amazing, the staff was very helpful with anything you need. We had a nice room with double bed, and could use tea and other drink facilities. The decoration of the place is very cute too. Would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Cairo!

Stayed here with my family on a triple family room twice during our Egypt tour 1st from 7/2/26 to 9/2 and again from 15/2 to 18/2/26. Champollion hostel is located close to Tahrir square and the old museum. Location is very good. Lots of eateries nearby. Property is on the 6th floor accessible by a 100 yr old vintage elevator. Breakfast is good and I loved it. Overall good place to stay. What stands out is the service. I have never seen such friendly host and team anywhere. If there is any shortcomings the smile and friendly attitude covers everything. Loved it and will stay again if I visit Cairo. Very much recommended for a peaceful stay.

Amazing hostel in a great Cairo neighborhood!
Close to the oldtown and located in an area where you can walk around even at night. Uber gets you anywhere quickly, but the rooms are still quiet and peaceful. The staff are incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely lovely, always ready to help with questions about sights or opening hours. Once I went looking for toilet paper and a staff member immediately noticed and brought it to me without asking, just one example of how thoughtful they are.
There are two cozy common rooms with a TV, plus a kitchen and a fridge you can use anytime. Free drinking water is included, and there’s a lift to reach the top-floor hostel. Breakfast is solid, and you’re welcomed with a drink. The view is also quite nice. Highly recommended!

Probably mid market hotel. It is confusing because it is listed as Champollion Palace on online bookings, but the actual name is Champollion Hostel, but it is not a hostel. The staff are exceptional, making sure all your needs are met. They will even arrange tours for you at a VERY big discount compared to online booking. There were two things that let this place down: we had to request room cleaning, and the room had a strong smell of mosquito repellent when we first entered our room and lingered around for a day. But overall, our stay was good.

We stayed for 3 nights when we first arrived in Cairo.
Excellent location for exploring downtown. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and everyone working there was very friendly and helpful.
It is on the 6th floor and has a beautiful 100+ year old lift to get there.
I really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend it to everyone.
