WARNING!! SCAM!! THREATS!!
For your own safety, don’t stay at this Hotel!!!!
The Hotel is a construction site, no proper entrance.
Elevator is highly unsafe.
You get leftover breakfast from previous guests.
Internet is so slow, it’s not useable.
The Hotel Staff will try to scam you.
They offered to do the laundry for us for a price of 2€ Total.
In the End, when they gave us back the Laundry, they tried to charge us 200€.
When we asked them to explain how washing a few t-shirts and trousers could cost 200€, they couldn’t.
When they realized we wouldn’t pay the 200€, suddenly they weren’t so friendly.
That’s when they showed their true face.
They are really friendly in the Beginning only to overcharge you later.
One of the guys picked up a phone and a few seconds later a group of young men entered the room.
We knew we were in trouble.
They threatened us to pay, we fleed to our room picked up our stuff, payed them and left the Hotel as Quick as possible.
They still followed us down the street yelling at us.
We were highly concerned for our safety and were glad when we got away.

Scam & fraud.
Booked the Oxford Hotel on the 4th floor two months in advance. It is supposed to be new/modern and has nice pictures. Upon arrival (around 23h00) they play the classic Cairo “your room is not available because.. [enter stupid reasoning here]” and they will try to put you in a “better” room (hint: it’s not) on the 3rd floor where the Oriental Hostel is located. They even have the audacity to state that “you don’t have to pay the difference in price”.
Dirty beds, yellow/grey mattresses with just 1 thin cover sheet, disgusting bathroom, nothing cleaned. After complaining they will first try to keep you there and “offer” you a discount and promise to put you in the right room the next day (don’t fall for it). After refusing, they pretended to call the “manager” and miraculously a room on the 4th floor became available. We politely asked to cancel the reservation and went to one of the big hotel chains close by.
Classic scam and fraud. They play nice and hospitable but in fact are con artists. This happens a lot in Cairo unfortunately. They try to fill their dirty hostel rooms or secondary rooms, which nobody in their right mind would book, with naive people who check in late and are tired or who have never been to Egypt before.
Save yourself time and stress and do not come here. Do not believe a word they say.

Good as a hostel. The staff is friendly and helpful. No available parking around or hard to find a slot. High speed WiFi with good coverage. The room is good and clean and the bathroom is also good and clean

The Oxford hotel was a fantastic Egypt experience. We stayed at the four seasons the night before our two nights here, and I enjoyed the hospitality here more – because everyone was so genuine and friendly and treated us like brothers. Hosni was very kind and so were all the others who run the hotel. Rooms clean and comfortable and with nice ambient lighting options. ICE COLD AC – just turn off when you leave to help save electric. Good breakfast and great location close off the nile attractions and near to good food.
I hope to come back to Egypt and would love to visit again.
