The Border Guard House is truly a hidden gem on the banks of the magnificent Nile River—what a breathtaking spot to relax and take in the beauty of Cairo! The location is absolutely perfect, offering stunning views of the water, especially during sunset. I had the chance to enjoy a peaceful Nile cruise from here, and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my visit. Watching the golden sun slowly set behind the city’s skyline, with a mix of historic and modern buildings, was magical. The atmosphere is calm, family-friendly, and ideal for both tourists and locals looking to unwind by the river. After the cruise, I sat down to enjoy a delicious, fresh, cheesy pizza served at a very reasonable price. It’s where you can enjoy great food and incredible views without breaking the bank. Whether visiting Cairo for the first time or looking for a by-the-place Nile, the Border Guard House is highly recommended. A perfect spot for families, couples, or solo travellers who want to soak in the peaceful charm of the river while enjoying good food and excellent service!

Nice place for families, great variety of food. Breath-taking Nile view. Available 7-10 passengers cruise. Waiters are not professional. Flying insects (hamoush) may be irritating.
Updates:
After my last visit few years ago, now most of things changed here. Most of the area is renovated with new chairs and tables. New areas added in the roof and in the river. The mosque have been removed and was replaced with a small air conditioned room. Number of available tables are restricted. The important thing that did not changes is the touristic mentality of the workers. Waiters are not professional at all. They make a hostile environment and not welcoming you at all. Foods are served cold and the portion in sandwiches are limited. Prices are a little expensive. Cruise is very expensive (200 pounds for half an hour) and you need to wait for some 3 hours. A big job is waiting for the managers to changes things in the place.

The club has a splendid view on the Nile. You can see the boats ,the youth who are passing by on their rowing boat and other boats “Faluka” which you can hear a loud songs and music” Mahraganat” while the passengers are dancing and clipping. The place is suitable for families, children and couples. Their is a playground provided with different games for children .The club provides as well screens T.V .Their no variety in the food menu but the prices are satisfactory. The place is so clean and the staff are kind and friendly.

Amazing view and affordable food. The menu has limited options but with good taste. But the service is not that great. And there is no parking area and it is very hard to find parking spot on normal work day in Zamalek
