It seems Egypt has trouble understanding the concept of night life. Instead of servicing a customer, they penalize you for entering their venue.Management only seats people they know. So why open it to the public? The food was good however.

The last Greek quarter. Standing but in bad shape. Only place in Alexandria where you can eat Greek food (including pork) and enjoy drinks. Difficult to enter if you are not Greek unless invited by a Greek.

The Greek block in Chatby, house to Averofeio high school, Pratsikeio and Tositsaio primary school, as well as the Greek Consulate, Manna home for the elderly, the Greek Club, plus residencies above the consulate for the Greek teachers, against rent of course.

All the buildings, donations from wealthy Greek Alexandrians to the Greek government.

If you look close, you will see a bit of the magic of cosmopolitan Alexandria and why the Greek Community, played such an important role.
