Extremely disappointing and frustrating experience at Al Safwa Hospital, specifically with the Ophthalmology (Eye) clinic.

The management and booking system here are completely flawed and show zero respect for patients. I was turned away and denied an appointment under the excuse that “all slots are fully booked” via phone reservations. However, the absurd reality is that absolutely NONE of these phone-booked patients were physically present in the hospital, nor had they even paid their consultation fees in advance!

It is completely unacceptable and ridiculous to reject patients who are physically present, in need of care, and ready to pay, just to hold spots for “phantom” phone reservations who haven’t shown up. This is a massive failure in hospital administration and a clear disregard for patient care. Management needs to wake up and fix this broken policy immediately. I do not recommend this hospital if you expect a professional booking system.

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL.

We had an absolutely terrible experience when we took my mother to this facility. She was admitted in a critical condition, and yet the medical team failed to provide the timely or appropriate treatment she urgently needed. Despite how unwell she was, there was little to no improvement under their care.

This hospital seems entirely driven by money. We stayed less than 48 hours and were charged over 90,000. They did nothing meaningful to help her recover and appeared more focused on inflating costs than delivering care. We honestly suspect they deliberately delayed or withheld proper treatment in order to prolong her stay and increase charges.

We made the decision to move her to another hospital, and within just a few hours, her condition began to improve dramatically. This only confirmed our worst fears about the lack of treatment she received at this facility.

Their behavior also showed a disturbing lack of compassion and dignity. My mother was placed in a male ward, attended by male nurses, with no regard whatsoever for her comfort or modesty. It was deeply upsetting and completely unacceptable.

Unless you want to risk your life and pay a fortune for substandard care, avoid this hospital at all costs. We were fortunate to get our mother out of there alive. I truly don’t understand how this place is allowed to operate. They prey on vulnerable patients and families during their worst moments, offering nothing in return but inflated bills and distress.

If I could give this hospital less than one star, I absolutely would.

    Absolutely disgraceful experience.
This hospital is nothing short of a scam. They massively overcharged us and held onto my mum’s passport like we were criminals. The care was non-existent—rude staff, shocking treatment, and zero urgency. My mum was left in pain, humiliated, and disrespected. The whole place operates like a business preying on vulnerable people. They treat you like a walking wallet, not a patient. There were no female nurses or carers when we needed them most, which made the situation even worse. Go here if you want to die—they will treat you like a cash machine and nothing more. I had to urgently move my mum to another hospital to save her from their neglect. They even tried to force us to sign papers saying we were satisfied with their service—disgusting. May Allah hold them accountable for every injustice and bring them no peace in this life or the next.

Unfortunately, even Doctors, the most educated personnel in the country, people who serve “patients”, they don’t respect time! Minimum waiting time is 90 minutes and the waiting area is very crowded, noisy and the seats are very uncomfortable.

-There was no ambulance when we asked for one during an emergency, and they told us to call the government ambulance.

-ICU visits are limited to only one time, despite most hospitals allowing it twice a day. Unnecessarily bothering both visitors and patients psychologically.

-Nurses are highly qualified, and I can’t say a single bad thing about them.
-There call centre is awful, leave you waiting for 10 minutes, and then hang out on you.

-Transparency from doctors aren’t there at all. They will tell you the bare minimum, even if you are a doctor (MD) yourself.

For such an expensive hospital, I expected more. They are so proud of getting a foreign doctor, but they would be better off in making changes that serve the patients and
