Alexandrian Boulangerie and Cafe, situated near the University Hospital.
Ordered: Plain Croissant and Cappuccino
Let me begin by saying, this croissant was about as close to perfect as a croissant could get without being financially devastating. It was crispy, flaky, buttery, fluffy, and fresh, but cooled long enough to be edible and allow for a proper crust. Could it have used some sort of premium wheat sourdough? Sure, could it have been even butterier? It could always be. But let’s be fair, this is a very well-made croissant, even by artisanal standards.
The cappuccino was a proper cappuccino, with a respectable layer of foam that remained all the way to the end and left residue on the mug. Doesn’t sound like much? Well, it’s more than I can say for most of their competitors.
The atmosphere was quite exquisite. Decorated in a classy Renaissance chic and graced with thematic classical French tunes. Its view of the park is quite delightful, and the seating area, while quaint, was very well kept and ventilated.
Service was great too. The order came out fairly quickly, and my waiter was polite enough to inform me that my order was part of an Eid offer, which I wasn’t previously aware of.
All in all, I am glad I came here today, and recommend this boulangerie to croissant enthusiasts visiting the city.
Croissant d’Alexia is honestly one of the best spots in Alexandria for both specialty coffee and croissants. The space itself is beautiful.. warm and inviting, with a great atmosphere that makes you want to sit and enjoy your time.
They serve the best specialty coffee in Alexandria, perfectly brewed and well balanced, with alternative milk options as well, which is always appreciated. The hosts are amazing.. informative, welcoming, friendly and genuinely cheerful. Abdulrahman in particular was very attentive, always looking out for guests, quick to help and always happy to serve.
Their croissants are easily the best in Alexandria, and I’m not easy to please when it comes to pastries, especially croissants. They are freshly baked everyday. The exterior is beautifully golden and crisp, with thin, delicate layers that shatter lightly when you bite into it, while the inside stays airy, soft, and rich without feeling heavy or doughy. Proper lamination, proper bake, and real attention to detail, you can taste it immediately.
My personal favorite is the mixed cheese croissant sandwich with cucumber and tomato, without mayo ofcourse. I even made sure to grab one for my flight before leaving Alex. I believe that says enough.
Really enjoyed the halloumi sandwich, fresh and flavorful! The croissant was light and buttery, and the coffee was smooth and well-made. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.
My favourite Croissants and pastry spot in Alexandria. Great variety of mouthwatering pastries but the white chocolate berries croissant is made in heaven. Coffees are delicious. Staff are very friendly and helpful 10/10
This place is a gem 💎✨️ they specialise in everything croissants!! 🥐
Exceptionally baked croissants. Flaky and light with a think and beautiful lattice inside .
My mum and I ordered salmon croissant sandwich + plain croissant + pistachio croissant + 2 cappuccinos!
The pistachio was a great balance of sweetness and creaminess with a generous filling !
The salmon was fresh on a bed of cream cheese with herbs
Regarding price, they are slightly onthe pricier side, but also they used really good ingredients and put in alot of effort to perfect their craft . So for me I’d recommend this place as one where you go to treat yourself / loved ones to something that’s made with a lot of love
