Athineos

We visited this restaurant as part of our daily tour in Alexandria and then realised that this place gets full by the tourist groups only. We’re Greeks and we felt very sorry about the food (it is supposed to be somehow a greek restaurant considering the name as well). We had the meat meal which was unfortunately completely untasty. And surprisingly, the prices were higher then anywhere else in Egypt we’ve been to. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially for Greeks or other Mediterranean citizens.

Our group had the set lunch of seafood at this restaurant near the seaside of Alexandria cornices road.
The standard salads were served before the mains.
The set lunch of white rice, grilled fish, shrimps and fried calamari were tasty. However they could do with some sauces.

The service was quick. The view was great.

My wife and I had a great experience here during Ramadan. We both got kofta for lunch and shared some grape leaves and cheese sambousek. They even had beer which is hard to find outside of a hotel, especially during Ramadan. Paying was very smooth, we had no issues with the bill and the staff were very kind!
