Bruxie’s Kafr Abdo

The café is in a side street and it isn’t very noisy outside which is good… it also has two floors so you have the option to sit downstairs with the buzz of people coming in/out or upstairs.

I like Bruxie’s (I go to the Fouad Street branch often and always order either a spanish/salted caramel latte and they’re consistent) but this experience wasn’t very good

So the barista wasn’t there for some reason and the person responsible for the cashier did my salted caramel for me (not saying he doesn’t know how to do coffee but doing both things could cause you to be rushed)…. I took a first sip and noticed he had added too much milk (i couldn’t taste the coffee or the salted caramel really). I told the barista that arrived on the counter (the other person went out) and thought I’d ask him to add another shot to try to make it better (versus asking him to do it again)… He did but then the taste of the coffee was too strong (even after stirring)… I was in a bit of a hurry and didn’t want to be too demanding so I took it and left hoping it’d be fine after I stir it again (spoiler: it wasn’t)

I guess they would have done it all over again if I’d requested but the fact that he added so much milk in the first place was really annoying – I felt like saying, “if you’re in a hurry or you’re not doing coffee here I’d rather have waited!”

Anyway not sure I’d come to this branch again but that was my experience – maybe it’s just a one-time instance though

Food is excellent, team is very polite & friendly
