I stayed at Carols Hotel for 15 days with my family in June 2026. Even now, after returning home, the hotel still leaves me with mixed feelings.
I will start with the positives. The hotel employs wonderful and kind people who, in my opinion, deserve much more recognition. I would especially like to thank Adham, who works by the pool. Without him, our holiday would not have been nearly as enjoyable. He is an excellent and attentive employee who always manages to put a smile on your face.
My thanks also go to the animation team, both the Czech animators from Čedok and the hotel’s own entertainment staff. Thanks to them, you never get bored during your stay. They organize fantastic activities for guests several times a day and spend the entire day smiling and creating a great atmosphere, which takes a lot of energy and dedication. I will especially miss Tiger, because he was the warmest and most genuine person I met at the hotel. The amount of joy, positivity, and kindness he shared with everyone was truly exceptional.
As for the negatives, I still cannot believe that this is advertised as a five-star hotel. The property is very worn out, and in some places it almost seems to be falling apart. The biggest shock for me personally was the bathroom. After speaking with other guests, I discovered that we all had similar issues: missing grout, cracked tiles, poor drainage, and even some mold in the grout lines. Simply put, this is not the standard of a five-star hotel, and perhaps not even a four-star one.
Another disappointing aspect was the food. The selection was extremely limited, and if you stay at this hotel for more than a week, be prepared to eat the same meals over and over again. There were even occasions when the restaurant could not accommodate the number of guests, and we had to stand in line for food like in a school cafeteria. For a five-star hotel, that was quite disappointing and unacceptable.

I just came back from Carols Beau Rivage in Marsa Matrouh, and honestly there is only one thing I would improve — there should be more variety of fruits. That’s it!
Everything else was amazing, especially the super warm and welcoming staff. I would really like to highlight the restaurant manager Mr. Ayman and his team. Youssef, Mohammad Ali were all doing their absolute best to provide excellent service every day.
I usually do not return to the same places twice, but this hotel is definitely an exception. I will come back for sure!

Had a lovely stay in june. Rooms are spacious you could do a yoga class in there. The white sand beach is amazing, although the sea access is limited, so cant swim very far and its more like a bigger swimming pool, the sea is amazing and we didnt wanna get out. The sun loungers are comfy and never had an issue to find empty ones. The staff is going over and beyond in all departments from beach, animators, housekeeping and all bars and restaurants apart from the beach bar, where we felt like we were bothering them every time (while having simple orders and leaving tips) so after two days we stopped going there alltogether and started going to the pool bar from the beach and to the other bar in front of the hotel for the evenings, which was a bit pity as the beach bars location would be perfect otherwise, but you dont want to feel unwanted on your holidays.
Selection of food wasnt the greatest but everything was perfectly flavoured so never leaving the restaurant hungry and again the service and attention of staff was immaculate and made my days.
Id also definitely recommend a massage, the location by the sea and the masseuse (special praise to Donja- sorry for probably spelling it wrong) were the highlight of the whole stay. Went twice and enjoyed every second.
It would be much nicer to get beer on a tap instead of pouring it from bottles, the beer itself was lovely but more often than not warm and no one wants to see getting their beer poured out of 3 bottles leftovers (especially when the main clientele is a beer nation).
Overal had a great stay and would definitely recommend.

One of the best places and hotels I’ve been to, everything was amazing! The hotel staff were extremely helpful and hospitable, the young man in charge of cleaning the rooms, the service in the fitness center was excellent, as well as the staff in the restaurants, whether in “Octopus” or “Arabesca”. The hotel has a beautiful surrounding, amazing views of the sea and lush gardens, the night parties are beautiful and overall, everything was beautiful and delicious and I hope to come back again.

The hotel presents itself as a five-star hotel, but it is definitely not. By world standards, it is about 3.5. What I appreciate is the very hardworking staff who try to keep the entire area clean and tidy. That takes quite a lot of work, because this is a hotel that has seen its best years. The air conditioning throughout the hotel needs to be replaced, which is very outdated and noisy. It wakes you up at night and won’t let you sleep. What is a complete tragedy is the wi-fi connection! It is missing throughout the entire area! It is presented only in one cafe, which is smoking, so if you want to use the internet, you have to go to a smoky room that stinks even when no one is there. Considering that the main product sold in the hotel shop is SIM cards, it seems to me that this is the intention of the hotel management. Not to provide quality wi-fi and to rake in money to sell SIM cards. The sea is nice. If you are lucky and there are no waves, you can enjoy it without seaweed. If they come, no one will clean them and they will stay there for four to five days. For me, it is an average hotel that tries to stay alive de facto only thanks to the Czech clients who go there and the hotel is full of them.
I wouldn’t go back to that hotel. They are much nicer in Egypt, with better service. The beautiful sea won’t save it, because most of the time we were there, we had algae deposits. Unfortunately, I have to touch us Czechs too, because some of them brought their own large cups for pouring alcoholic drinks and beer. Quite often I had to be ashamed of our nation and our behavior.
