hi, very poor experience with City Hotel Cairo.
Our clients arrived around 02:00 AM on 28-Jan-2026, after informing the hotel in advance of the late arrival. Despite having a confirmed and fully prepaid reservation, the hotel declared itself fully booked upon arrival.
The reception staff on duty (AHMAD / FD) acknowledged the situation but no proper solution was provided.
Direct Hotel Confirmation No.: 2378515042
Until now, no official explanation or refund has been received. This is highly unprofessional and unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel.

Do not book this hotel!!! When we arrived they told us they were full even though they have our reservation on their system. They sent us to a hotel nearby “grand city hotel”, we agreed as we wanted to nap and shower before our flight in the afternoon, we ended up paying more than the booking.com rate and we just realized we got bed bug bites. Reading other reviews, it seems it’s a scam they do, I guess to bring people to that other hotel that has shitty reviews and confirmed BED BUGS!!!!

The hotel isn’t luxurious, but it serves its purpose if you need accommodation near Tahrir Square and downtown Cairo. The rooms are fairly good and adequate, but the beds aren’t comfortable, and there’s annoying noise in the rooms facing the street. The balconies are completely unsafe for children and extremely dangerous, with a risk of falling into the street. The smell of smoke inside the rooms was very strong upon my arrival! They moved me to another room for almost double the price, claiming it would be more comfortable and the bed would be bigger for children. This took about 50 minutes, and unfortunately, there was no difference in the bed, and breakfast wasn’t included! There were also no slippers for entering the bathroom, and there was no water dispenser, which was very annoying! Finally, the staff were fairly good, especially the young man in charge of handling items and reception.
