I stayed for two nights solely for the view – which you can’t beat! The rooms are very simple and clean, definitely a guest house not a hotel, but it’s a very unique experience to look out on the pyramids and the sunset is just spectacular. The bed was functional and I slept pretty well despite construction noises (they are building a VR experience by the pyramids which will likely make the pedestrian access a lot more busy once it’s finished)

Very disappointing experience. The listed price was USD 54.53, but I was actually charged around USD 70 after they added taxes, plus 3% extra for credit card payment. Other than the terrace and the window view, the room itself was not worth the price at all.
What upset me most happened at checkout. Checkout was at 10:00 AM, and because there was no elevator, I had to carry my heavy luggage downstairs by myself. The suitcase made some noise when it touched the stairs because it was simply too heavy to control perfectly. An older lady staff member kept complaining that I was making too much noise. I was wearing slippers and she told me my footsteps were too loud because “people were sleeping.” She repeated this three times and also complained about me to another staff member.
What made it worse was that she was very friendly to two white guests, but treated me very differently. I have traveled to 100+ countries and have visited Egypt many times, and I have never been treated like this. It honestly felt discriminatory. I saw many similar complaints about bad attitude from Chinese travelers online, and now I understand why. I should not have chosen this hotel just for the view.

Please remember this is a guest house, not a hotel. It offers basic facilities. It is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The plumbing is old and you have to dispose of toilet paper in the rubbish rather than down the toilet.
You are paying for the view from the roof terrace, and from the room if you have a pyramid view room, which is fantastic.
We enjoyed our stay here.

The guest house is right by the pyramid entrance, provides a great view of the sphinx. The guest house provides an early breakfast. The people are friendly and nice. However, the internet connectivity in the room was poor and there was also no hair dryer so in the winter that becomes tricky. As it is by the pyramids it also next to an extremely noisy street, and there can be noise at all hours of the night.

We had a great stay at the Guardian Guest House during our time in Giza. The location is excellent, directly across from the Pyramids, the Sphinx and the old Sphinx entrance. This means you can enter early when it opens and go straight to the Sphinx. When entering the complex, make sure to go straight to the ticket gate/checkpoint and ignore everyone else trying to lead you or guide you somewhere else.
The rooftop terrace was amazing and we really enjoyed watching both the sunsets and sunrises from there. If you book for a Friday or Saturday night, you’ll also be able to see the Light and Sound Show from the terrace. The show itself was pretty bland and not particularly impressive, but staying here means you avoid paying the USD $25 entry fee, which we don’t think is worth it anyway.
The room was fine and we had no issues at all. The Wi-Fi isn’t the best, but that’s fairly normal in Egypt, getting an eSIM is definitely recommended. The shower was great, with good hot water and adequate water pressure.
Service was not an issue. Although the rooms are on level 2, the reception staff came down and helped us with our luggage. We booked through Booking.com and were not asked to pay any extra charges.
Breakfast was a standard Egyptian breakfast, including bread, cold meats and cheese, boiled eggs and omelettes made on request. The falafels were fresh and, along with the omelettes, were very good. Coffee and tea were also available.
Because of its location outside the Pyramids area, you will be approached by local vendors offering souvenirs and taxi rides, but it’s easy enough to ignore them.
There are also small nearby shops where you can buy chips and soft drinks, which is handy for sunset viewing on the rooftop.
