The Kings Palace Hotel in Cairo, Egypt, is considered the worst. The entire ceiling collapsed. It is fortunate the reviewer survived. Everyone is urged not to book a room there. The hotel is in a very old building in Cairo, with no facilities, and is unsafe. The reviewer barely escaped, so others should avoid the same experience.

The bed was really dirty, a lot of mosquitos, and no possible sleep. They asked me to pay more than it says on booking! The place was noisy, and there was no closet, nither bedside table, nothing.. where you can put your stuff.
And I didn’t get my breakfast, which included my booking.
Do not recommend even for one night because you will not sleep.

By Egyptian standards it was okay. It was just quite a few floors up and sometimes the elevator just doesn’t work along with the AC.
It would also take some time to get them to fix the AC. But if you book a private room, you get your own bathroom and for $10 a night I wasn’t complaining too much.
It pretty clean but you have to ask housekeeping to come every couple of days or else they will not disturb you.
The hosts were very welcoming nice and the entire staff speaks English well and they were more than willing to give directions and advice. I once locked myself out on accident and they went above and beyond to help me get back into my room ASAP.
It’s also right in the heart of Cairo so many places are a few kilometers away and you can walk if you don’t feel comfortable haggling taxi drivers in the beginning.
