Had the most horrible experience with La Vie (iCity). I used to go there regularly to do my hair. Agreed with the stylists that they would do my hair for my wedding. I did not want to do, change or cut anything to my hair before the wedding. They pushed so many times that I needed to refresh my old balayage before the wedding, at least the face framing, to make it look blended and fresh. One stylist even started mixing the bleach without my consent. I felt the pressure, so in the end I agreed. The bleach was flying all over my clothes and the chair and the stylist made me bend over on my knees at the washing table. It was horrible. They bleached my hair to an orange color that did not match the rest at all. I went back for them to fix it, at which point we had to redo the entire balayage to make the colors match. I had to pay for this again! The bleach was such bad quality that my natural curl pattern disappeared and I am now left with a straight/wavy dry straw-like texture. I purchased a restorative hair mask from them. They then proceeded to tell me I have to take it with me so they could use the mask on my hair. They then made me pay for the application of the product that I already paid for and brought from home!

As this was not long before the wedding I had no choice but to go ahead and keep them on my wedding day. We agreed to 2 styles and did tests with the veils and crowns and everything. They assured me time and time again that all would be well on the day itself. My first style (updo) kept falling apart so that the mesh inside the bun was showing and the stylist actually came up to me twice to fix the hair on the dance floor. After 1,5 hours I went in for my second style. Instead of restyling my hair, refreshing the waves/curls and securing the front pieces properly, the stylist just let my hair down and said ‘the wave already looks good’. Mind you, I am paying for an entire new style! Afterwards, my crown kept falling off as it was not secured properly and my mother had to keep coming up to me the secure it in place. The stylist also did my sisters’ hair. One sister he kept flirting with which made her very uncomfortable and he suggested to cut the dead ends, for which he later charged 800 EGP. The other sister he kept insulting by saying her hair was dirty and unwashed in Arabic, thinking she would not understand (my sisters live abroad). He did not have any shampoo or dry shampoo or any equipment to fix the problem, he just complained. In total they charged me 12800 EGP because they did two styles and 2 bridesmaids. 2 weeks after the wedding my hair turned orange again. It is dead and dry and now 6 months later I am still paying the price, waiting for it to grow out. They are absolute scammers who do not understand the slightest about hair dye and chemicals or professionalism and on top of that they are dishonest and work with no conscience. We complained within the compound and Mountain View said they would take action. Sadly no visible action was taken. I needed to write this review so other people would be aware.

Very happy with my hair color, turned out better than expected based on stylist’s (Mohamed Mustafa) recommendation, Doaa did my nails perfectly. Communication was a bit difficult for me as I do not speak Arabic, but thankfully my Egyptian husband helped with that.
