We got the Miso soup for starters and it wasn’t bad but a bit saltier than the average preference. The nigiri selection was fine (the eel was the best piece) but the Squid tasted a bit off ngl. The beef tataki nigiri was chewy and considering its color? Was kind of weird as it should’ve melted in the mouth with that color. The miso ramen? Tasted umami and nice but arrived with a hard boiled egg which is a big no-no with ramen as it should’ve been with a runny yolk. THE HIGHLIGHT of the meal (which we didn’t unfortunately picture) was the black sesame ice cream. It was just the perfect amount of sweetness and earthiness. It was creamy and had my taste buds tingling, perfect choice to end this meal with.

I visited because it felt more authentic than other Japanese restaurants that serve rolls.
For a start, simply being able to eat sashimi of this quality outside East Asia was a joy in itself.
I’m a great fan of tonkotsu ramen, so I was a bit disappointed they didn’t have it, but on reflection, I began to think that perhaps this suggests they’re actually making their other ramen dishes properly. I wish the tantanmen had been a bit spicier, or at least that the heat level could have been adjusted.
I’d read good reviews from Japanese customers about the kaisen natto, so I ordered it for last order, and as expected, it was absolutely delicious. Overall, the portions were quite generous, so I ended up feeling a bit full, but it was a lovely meal.
I do have one request though. Would you mind updating the prices on the Google menu? Some dishes still have price that appear to be outdated. When I placed additional orders partway through the meal, I used the Google menu rather than the official one, and there was a discrepancy in the prices when the bill came. Or simply removing the price might be a solution.

During my stay in Cairo, I struggled to find meals that truly satisfied me, so I came here looking for Japanese food.
To be honest, my impression is that this is the kind of place you go to only when you really want Japanese food and have no other option.
The fried octopus, fried chicken, and pork ginger (although it had far too many onions) were all at a level that was simply “okay.”
Nothing special, but no major complaints either. On the other hand, the sashimi, cream croquettes, eel, and simmered tuna cutlet were quite disappointing.
If you eat them expecting proper Japanese cuisine, the gap between expectation and reality is noticeable.
I couldn’t really feel a good balance of flavor or quality ingredients, so these dishes are honestly hard to recommend.
There was also an issue with service.
The wine I first ordered was said to be unavailable, but later it turned out they actually had it.
Even then, the staff showed no sign of concern, which left a bad impression.
Overall, the service level was not very satisfying. This place feels like a last-resort option when you’re craving Japanese food in Cairo.

One of the best Japanese restaurants you can find in Cairo. The Chef is Japanese and makes good sushi and other dishes too. I will definitely go there again. It’s a bit pricey but definitely worth the money.
