The rooftop look and atmosphere is really good and I loved it. It’s peaceful up there in the middle of the crowded Downtown.
What I really didn’t like is the extremely overpriced cocktails and the food being quite average almost on the lower tier (flavour was not really there, soft drink cans were coming hot and the ice was not enough…). You would expect way more from a place like this.

Mazeej Balad Rooftop in Cairo is an absolute gem and easily a five-star experience from start to finish. The rooftop view is beautiful.
The food completely stole the show. I had the most tender lamb shank I’ve ever tasted in my life—perfectly cooked and full of rich, deep flavor. The Spring Feta Salad was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced, and the hummus was incredibly smooth and flavorful. I also loved the strawberry mojito—refreshing and the perfect complement to the meal. Every dish felt thoughtfully crafted, and I was introduced to so many delicious flavors I hadn’t tried before.
What made the experience even more memorable was the incredible staff—warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. A highlight of the evening was meeting Chef Ahmed, who personally came out to introduce himself, adding such a special, personal touch. The décor is stunning, stylish yet inviting, and perfectly complements the atmosphere.
It’s also worth noting that the hotel downstairs is a Michelin Key property, which speaks volumes about the level of quality here. With the new GM, Mariou, doing a fantastic job leading the team in such a great direction, this place is clearly on an exciting path. Don’t miss it if you’re in Cairo—it’s a truly exceptional experience.

Had drinks and dinner on the rooftop and it was absolutely amazing. The service was perfect, truly top-tier and Mario was an excellent host who manages this beautiful place so well.
I had the best grilled chicken, and everything from the music to the vibes was just right. Gouda was the waiter with a nice smile and service. The Mazeej balad rooftop décor and setup are stunning.
Definitely coming back next time!

A Hidden Gem with the Best Vibe!
I can’t say enough good things about this place! From the moment you walk in, the interior design is just stunning—it has this cozy, inviting aesthetic that makes you never want to leave. Whether you’re there to relax or catch up with friends, the atmosphere is 10/10.
Highlights:
The Vibe: El gaw helw awyyy—it’s the perfect spot to unwind.
The Service: The staff is incredibly friendly and genuinely helpful. They make you feel right at home.
Special Mention: A huge thanks to Ayman! His hospitality was so cute and professional; he really went above and beyond to make our visit special.
If you’re looking for a place with great energy and beautiful decor, this is definitely it. Can’t wait to come back!

Excellent in every aspect.
First off, the food was great. Their mix grill was very nice, their mouammar rice with pigeon was perfect and their profiterole was to die for. Every item was so distinctive, tasty and unique. Their sangria was so so tasty as well.
The service was perfect. The staff were always available and attentive. They were also super friendly.
I had a meeting nearby and we just turned up and the staff was super accommodating. Truly appreciated and loved that.
Lastly, the design and decorations of the place were so beautiful. I also loved the little details, like the plates and cups they used and the presentation of the food.
