Nile Crystal Hotel

This was one of the worst hostel experiences I’ve ever had. To begin with, the name didn’t match what was listed online, which made it confusing to even find the place. When I finally arrived, the staff were completely unprepared for my confirmed booking and only made the situation more stressful.

The money situation was unacceptable. Not only did he overcharge us well beyond the agreed price, but he also took extra money and called it a “tip” even though we never offered one. On top of that, the listing claimed card payments were accepted, but when we arrived, we were told cash only. It also said breakfast was included, but there was none. To make things worse, he gave us a cheaper, lower-quality room on the first night and still charged us much more than what was fair.

The room itself was terrible: dirty, uncomfortable, and missing basic things that had been advertised. There was no TV, no hot water, and none of the promised amenities. The whole place felt neglected and far below the standard they promote online.

Finally, the staff’s attitude was dismissive and unprofessional throughout. Instead of trying to resolve any of these problems, they acted like it was all our fault.

Between the misleading name, the booking confusion, being overcharged, the shady money practices, the false advertising (no card payment, no breakfast, no hot water, no TV), being downgraded to a cheaper room but still charged more, and the staff’s behavior, I strongly recommend avoiding this hostel. Travelers deserve honesty and basic hospitality, and this place failed on every level.

Lovely clean place, all staff are friendly and helpful

The room is nice. Friendly and welcoming hosts. Very good service and the location is perfect.
The taxi driver – Mohammed- is very educating. I loved my journey with him.
