Paradise Inn – Windsor Palace Hotel

Stayed at Paradise Inn Windsor Palace Hotel and honestly the experience was very mixed.

The strongest point of the hotel is definitely its historic charm and authentic old Alexandria atmosphere. The building has character, beautiful sea views, and a nostalgic feeling that’s hard to find in modern hotels. I also genuinely liked the staff, they were kind, professional, and did their best throughout the stay. The restaurants and rooftop experience were also very enjoyable and probably the highlight of the hotel for me.

However, the hotel really needs serious renovation and modernization. One of the biggest issues was how noisy the rooms were, you can hear street noise very clearly, which makes resting difficult at times. Another frustrating detail was the lack of convenient electricity outlets in the room, something very basic that today’s travelers really need.

The furniture and facilities feel outdated, and while some people may appreciate the vintage style, there’s a difference between “classic” and simply needing refurbishment.

Unfortunately, despite the friendly staff and good restaurants, I personally wouldn’t stay there again unless major renovations are done. The hotel has huge potential, but right now the comfort level doesn’t match the beautiful image and history of the place.

Not worth the money.

My stay at the Windsor Palace Hotel in Alexandria was very disappointing overall.

The room had several basic issues that made the stay uncomfortable. The bed sheets were too small for the bed and kept coming off during the night. Although I booked a sea view room, it was surprisingly small and poorly furnished — there were no bedside tables or bedside lamps. Only the main light was available, which made the room very impractical.

The balcony doors did not close properly, allowing constant noise and even car exhaust from the busy street outside to enter the room. On top of that, the blackout curtains were not functioning properly, so the room never really got dark at night or during the day, which is a problem when travelling with a baby.

Service at the reception desk was also lacking. When I asked for help regarding problems with the room or for recommendations about the city, the staff were not particularly helpful or interested in assisting.

Breakfast was below average with little variety and did not match the quality of a four star hotel

Overall, this is not a four-star hotel experience, even though it charges like one. While the location and historic charm may appeal to some, the comfort, maintenance, and service fall well below what you would expect at this price point.

This magnificent and majestic hotel is situated on the sea front with the most beautiful views from the room and from the roof top restaurant. It used to be a king’s palace and was converted to a hotel in 1906.

Upon entering I felt like I was in a 1950’s film. It was like being transported back in time.

The security staff at the entrance were accommodating and so kind towards us. A special thanks to the very tall Mohamed and the rest of the staff.

Another special thanks to Ahmed who bought our suitcases up to us & got us a taxi & who was very kind and helpful & to Amr Ibrahim who got us a taxi as well and for his kindness too.

An extra special thanks to the lovely, kind & knowledgeable Christina from Guest Relations who gave us a very warm welcome to the hotel that included a flower for me & the most delicious mini macarons, biscuits and other pastries. We also had a delicious complimentary Hibiscus juice & more biscuits on the night before we left.

On our departure day, we met Meena, also from guest relations, who was so lovely and kind as well.

Thanks too to.all the housekeeping staff for their hard work.

The lift is old fashioned and thrilling to go in. First there is a security gate and then you open the door on.both sides.

Our room was spacious and clean with a breath taking view of the sea and city. We also had a small but adequate balcony. The bathroom was clean and super too.

The Blue Harbour rooftop is wonderful. The staff are accommodating, kind and lovely. The food is fresh and delicious. The shrimp caesar salad is the best as is the Lebanese mezze starter. The Sunshine (7 up and cherry syrup) and the Sunrise (7 up, lemon, grenadine syrup) cocktails are refreshing and yum.

My best was the Breakfast Buffet. A huge variety of cereals, best cooked oats, fruit salad, yoghurt, hot foods that include yummy chicken sausages and beef too, foul mesdames, potato, hard boiled eggs etc, then the lovely Chef Kareem makes delicious omelettes, thete is an Oriental breakfast too…cheeses, cold meats, salads etc & saving the best for last is the breads, baguettes, croissant, assortment of pastries & the most delicious mini plain & chocolate pancakes filled with a custard. Yum cappuccino too.

If you would like exceptional and precious staff, mouth watering foods and beautiful sea views, I urge you to stay at this hotel. Highly recommended
