Very disappointing experience at Rofayda Hospital Emergency Department.
I visited the ER today due to severe weakness, headache, and low blood pressure (90/50, as documented in my medical report).
From the moment I arrived, I was extremely disappointed with the way I was treated. I was told I had to wait around an hour and a half for approval, despite explaining that I was feeling unwell and could not wait. I was also informed that seeing an emergency doctor would involve additional charges, although my Al Ahly Medical Services card covers medical services without a co-payment.
After eventually seeing the doctor, I felt uncomfortable with the way my concerns were handled. Instead of feeling reassured and properly assessed, I felt that the consultation became unnecessarily focused on questioning my treating physician’s treatment plan. This made me lose confidence in the care being provided.
I ultimately refused the IV treatment because I no longer felt comfortable or confident proceeding. I requested a proper medical report documenting the circumstances, but the report only stated that I refused the IV and did not reflect the concerns and circumstances I had raised.
Patients coming to an emergency department should feel safe, respected, listened to, and properly cared for. Unfortunately, this was not my experience at Rofayda Hospital. I sincerely hope management reviews this incident and the way patients are handled in the Emergency Department.
I had a very positive experience, it was exactly what I expected and my needs were met. The nurses were super helpful and overall it was a great experience!
