Disappointing experience, especially for a venue that should know better.
Visited U Restaurant at XU Hotel in Santa Fe, Alexandria to watch a UEFA Champions League match game, expecting a relaxed and transparent experience. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
The hookah menu clearly differentiates between regular flavors (300 EGP) and mixes (350 EGP). We ordered a standard apple hookah, yet were billed at the higher “mix” price. When this was pointed out, the explanation given was vague and unconvincing, leaving the impression that the pricing is, at best, poorly communicated—or at worst, inconsistently applied.
What further undermined the experience was the handling of the payment. Basic cash counting became unnecessarily contentious, which is not something one expects in a place positioning itself as a higher-end venue.
It’s a shame, as the setting has potential, but clarity, professionalism, and attention to detail are essential in hospitality—and were noticeably lacking here.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Until then, I would think twice before returning.

Lovely view
Elegant design and entrance
Staff are professional and lovely. The waitress named Aya was really smiling all the time. She was helpful 👌.
The outdoor hall is elegant and overlooking the beach but it was really sunny and hot 🥵. I think it will be nice on spring or autumn but in summer it is unbearable.
The indoor section is very cozy. The AC is really relieving the hot weather. The service is fast. Breakfast menu is limited but delicious. Drinks are very well prepared and chilling 👌.
The omelette were perfectly cooked and side dishes tasted good. I suggest adding some healthy breakfast choices as brown toast and oats.
I liked the place and I think i will visit them back soon.
The place is so nice and elegant with huge space and many different tables, outdoor and indoor. It’s suitable for work dinners and dates.
People who work there are professional and organized.
They have a big menu but with the usual stuff nothing special. The food is good. We ordered pizza, sticks and Pasta.
The drinks are okay, my orange juice came warm.
They DON’t have VEGETARIAN OPTIONS.
The prices are EXPENSIVE for the food quality and quantity. They add way TOO MUCH tax and service.
In my opinion, the place is overrated. as the only special thing about it is its open view over the sea. You can get the same view in cheaper places. But it’s worth a try.

Went in for a late breakfast.
Decided to order the Al Kafr breakfast though we weren’t sure what it was.
We loved it. So many varied tastes to eat with the huge fatier pastry.
We also had the Oriental Breakfast and it was also quite tasty.
The view of the Mediterranean is nice.
The service was professional and friendly.
Definite recommend.
