Extremely disappointed with A Travel — lack of transparency, poor communication, and reckless recommendations.

As an experienced traveler, I rely heavily on travel agencies to vet partners, communicate clearly, and protect their clients’ experience. Unfortunately, A Travel failed on every one of those fronts.

This agency heavily recommended and booked us on the Sonesta Star Goddess Nile Cruise without clearly disclosing critical details about what was actually included versus excluded. There was little to no proactive communication about tipping culture, expected “mandatory” daily tips, guide behavior, or the aggressive upselling and commission based shopping stops we would be subjected to throughout the cruise.

These are not minor details.
These are things that directly impact a traveler’s budget, comfort, and trust.

At no point were we properly briefed on:
• The constant pressure to tip and being told how much to tip per guest per day
• The fact that guides would repeatedly demand additional tips at every stop
• Being taken to exploitative tourist shops charging 4–5x normal prices
• The reality that many “included” experiences come with strings attached or hidden costs

When issues arose, communication from A Travel was minimal and reactive at best. A professional agency should advocate for their clients, not disappear once payment is made.

Recommending a cruise line that financially preys on tourists, without full disclosure, is either negligent or intentional and neither is acceptable.

Egypt is an incredible destination, and there are many ethical operators who showcase it with integrity. Sadly, A Travel does not appear to prioritize traveler protection, transparency, or long-term trust.

If you are considering using this agency:
Ask detailed questions. Get everything in writing. And be cautious of any “strong recommendations” that aren’t fully explained.

I would not book with them againand I would not recommend them to anyone seeking an honest, well-managed travel experience.
