Absolutely terrible experience with this Alamo branch. We had booked and paid in advance, but they refused to give us the car despite having all the required documents, using a completely unjustified administrative excuse.
The staff were rude, unhelpful and refused to provide clear information. They even hid their name badges and refused to give us their names. I also had to fight just to get a written document confirming that they were refusing to give us the car.
We had to urgently rent from another company, which accepted the exact same documents without any issue, but at more than twice the original price.
After reading other similar reviews, this honestly feels like an absolute scam.
Huge waste of time, money and energy. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

My experience with Alamo at Cairo International Airport has been extremely disappointing, and unfortunately this is now my second bad experience with this branch.
The first incident was in 2024, when I booked directly with Alamo. Upon arrival, I was offered a vehicle that was clearly in poor condition, shaking excessively while driving and obviously not properly maintained. Despite my concerns, staff tried to convince me that it was a good, well-maintained vehicle. I refused to accept it, requested a refund, and had to spend nearly three hours during peak season searching for an alternative rental while vehicle availability was very limited.
I decided to give Alamo another chance this year, but the outcome was even worse. I had a confirmed reservation through EconomyBookings for August 1st. Due to a documented airline delay on flight EK927 from Dubai, I arrived at the Alamo counter around 12:45 PM, nearly two hours later than planned. Despite the fact that the vehicle was reportedly still available, I was informed that my voucher had been marked as expired and that my reservation was treated as a no-show.
What made the situation even more frustrating was that neither the booking voucher nor the reservation terms clearly disclosed that a reservation could be cancelled after only 1–2 hours. Instead of offering assistance or flexibility despite the documented flight delay, I was directed back and forth between Alamo and the booking platform.
As a result, my family and I, including children and elderly relatives, were left stranded at Cairo Airport for almost four hours trying to secure another rental car after a long journey. The lack of customer care, understanding, and accountability was extremely disappointing.
After two serious incidents with the same branch, I have completely lost confidence in Alamo Cairo Airport. I would strongly recommend that travelers carefully consider other rental options, especially if arriving on an international flight where delays can happen outside your control.

⭐☆☆☆☆ 1/5 – تجربة مخيبة للآمال للغاية مع ألامو لتأجير السيارات بمطار القاهرة الدولي
قمت بحجز سيارة SUV لمدة 12 يومًا في يونيو 2026، وقد تم إجراء الحجز قبل موعد الرحلة بحوالي ستة أشهر. وقبل وصولي بثلاثة أسابيع، تواصلت معي شركة ألامو مصر مباشرة لتأكيد الحجز، مما أعطاني ثقة بأن كل شيء جاهز ومنظم كما ينبغي.
لكن عند وصولي إلى مكتب الشركة في مطار القاهرة الدولي، فوجئت بأن السيارة المخصصة لي موديل 2021. وخلال أكثر من 30 عامًا من استئجار السيارات حول العالم من كبرى الشركات العالمية مثل ألامو وأفيس وهيرتز، كنت دائمًا تقريبًا أحصل على سيارة موديل السنة الحالية أو في أسوأ الأحوال موديل السنة السابقة.
الأمر الأكثر إحباطًا أن ألامو مصر تفرض من أعلى أسعار التأجير اليومية في السوق، ومع ذلك تقدم لعملائها سيارات عمرها خمس سنوات، وهو أمر لا يتوافق إطلاقًا مع ما يتوقعه العميل من شركة تأجير سيارات عالمية ذات سمعة دولية.
عندما أبديت استيائي من الوضع، كان الرد ببساطة أن الموسم الحالي هو موسم الذروة وأنه لا يوجد ما يمكنهم فعله. لم يتم عرض أي بديل، ولم يتم تقديم أي ترقية، ولم تُبذل أي محاولة لمعالجة المشكلة أو تقدير أنني عميل قام بالحجز قبل أشهر طويلة.
كانت تجربة محبطة وغير مقبولة بكل المقاييس. ومن وجهة نظري، فإن الإدارة المحلية تضر بسمعة علامة ألامو التجارية من خلال عدم تجديد أسطول السيارات بالشكل المناسب، مع الاستمرار في فرض أسعار تأجير مرتفعة.
أنوي التواصل مع الإدارة الرئيسية لشركة ألامو في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وتقديم شكوى رسمية بشأن هذه التجربة.
أنصح أي شخص يخطط لاستئجار سيارة من مطار القاهرة الدولي بأن يستفسر مسبقًا عن سنة الصنع وموديل السيارة قبل إتمام الحجز، لأن التجربة التي مررت بها لا تعكس المستوى الذي يتوقعه المسافرون من شركة تأجير سيارات عالمية.

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Alamo Cairo Airport
I made a reservation for an SUV for a 12-day rental period in June 2026. The booking was made approximately six months in advance, and three weeks before my arrival, Alamo Egypt even contacted me directly to reconfirm my reservation, giving me confidence that everything was properly arranged.
Upon arriving at the counter at Cairo International Airport, I was shocked to discover that the vehicle assigned to me was a 2021 model. In more than 30 years of renting vehicles around the world from major international rental companies such as Alamo, Avis, and Hertz, I have almost always received a current-year model or, at most, a vehicle that was one year old.
What makes this even more disappointing is that Alamo Egypt charges some of the highest daily rental rates in the market, yet customers are being offered vehicles that are five years old and clearly far from what one would expect from an internationally recognized rental brand.
When I expressed my dissatisfaction, I was simply told that it was the high season and that there was nothing they could do. No alternative was offered, no upgrade was available, and no effort was made to address my concerns as a customer who had booked months in advance.
This experience was extremely frustrating and unacceptable. In my opinion, the local operation is damaging the reputation of the Alamo brand by failing to invest adequately in fleet renewal while continuing to charge premium rental rates.
I intend to contact Alamo’s corporate office in the United States and file a formal complaint regarding this experience.
If you are renting a vehicle at Cairo International Airport, I strongly recommend asking for the vehicle year and model before finalizing your reservation. Based on my experience, the vehicle provided may not meet the standards many travelers expect from a major international rental company.
