I had the worst experience there, I booked my wedding with them, they are not organized and they always lie to us as I booked my wedding by end of March for day 30th July then I adjusted it to be 31st on the following day, two months later in May they sent me inconvenient message about room decoration for day 30!!!
They tried to force us to change our wedding date because of their mistake and they lied by saying there is an event while we got to know they booked our hall for another bride&groom
Receptionists there are very uncheerful, rude and unprofessional
I stayed for six hours waiting for tissues and they didn’t get me any!!
They were so rude to my bridesmaids who asked for guidance, they laughed sarcastically and left me while complaining and finally they mixed up my dress extension with another bride!!
We loved the aqua park although it is slightly old but functional and has great rides for all ages. Hotel guests can enter from 8-10am before external guests but this was too early especially after the buffet breakfast. Rooms are dated so would suggest booking the Plaza if you don’t like the red look. However Plaza although newer is less grand and lacks the atmosphere the larger, older hotel does. Food choices are good however it states on Agoda breakfast is £3 and ended up being £7. The pools in the hotel and lobby are lovely and the wedding venues and staircase are splendid. You can use the Plaza pool and facilities next door and we enjoyed the club next door in the evenings. There is loads to do including for kids and lovely areas to sit and get food. This should be advertised. I left my charger in the hotel and they found it for me. It was also nice to receive a follow up call asking how my stay was. Thank you for a wonderful stay and excellent value for what you get!
You claim there was “no steal”? Then why did your staff not dial my local Egyptian phone number, which was active and saved in your system, the moment they found my 13,000 EGP headphones? You intentionally waited, hoping I would leave for good. I only got my property back because I initiated the call myself.
Your statement that Guest Relations “tried to contact me many times” is a complete fabrication. I received zero calls and zero messages from the hotel during my entire stay.
Instead of admitting the gross negligence of your staff, management writes ridiculous excuses filled with terrible grammar. This just proves the real “5-star” level of your service. To all future travelers: if you forget something here, you will never see it again unless you fight for it. Avoid this place at all costs.
Looks nice on the outside, staff are useless and not trained for tourist guests unless you speak Arabic. My stay included breakfast and dinner buffet. The dinner buffet didn’t exist, but they still charged the money for this. They tried to charge me extra for the a la carte until I explained dinner buffet was already paid for. Terrible internet, very lazy and incompetent dumb staff, particularly at reception. Welcome to Cairo. Good luck with checkout too, they are slow and will waste your time by over 30 mins. I lied by saying I’m just putting my bags in the taxi, I ran away. On a nice note, I went back to Dusit Lakeview for decent service and food in the evening during my stay.
Jewel Sports City Resort & Spa is a well-known resort-style hotel in Cairo that offers a mix of leisure and sports-focused facilities, making it appealing for families, tourists, and even business travelers. Overall, the hotel provides a decent experience, but it comes with both strengths and noticeable weaknesses depending on expectations.
One of the biggest advantages of the resort is its wide range of amenities. It features a large water park, swimming pools, a fitness center, and open recreational spaces, which make it especially attractive for families with kids. The rooms are generally spacious and come with standard features like air conditioning, TVs, and minibars, and many guests appreciate the pool or city views. The location is also convenient, being relatively close to places like Cairo Festival City and the airport, while still offering a quieter environment away from central Cairo traffic.
In terms of service, many visitors highlight the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, which adds positively to the overall stay. Cleanliness and comfort are also rated fairly well by many guests, with scores around the “very good” range on booking platforms.
However, the hotel does have some downsides. A common complaint is the weak or unreliable Wi-Fi, which can be frustrating, especially for business travelers. Food quality, particularly breakfast, is sometimes described as average or inconsistent. Some guests also mention that parts of the hotel, especially rooms and facilities, feel a bit outdated and could use renovation. Service speed can vary, and in some cases, guests reported slow responses or issues with maintenance.
Overall, Jewel Sports City Resort & Spa is a good mid-range option if you’re looking for a fun, activity-filled stay at a reasonable price. It may not fully match a luxury 5-star standard, but it offers solid value, especially for families or short stays.
