After multiple disappointments with Airbnb and mainly due to cleanliness, I finally found this gem. Finally clean affordable place in the middle of the best spot in Cairo.
Due to work, I frequently travel to European countries, American countries and Middle Eastern countries, usually staying in mid-to-high-end hotels like Holiday Inn and Hilton. However, this time in Egypt, because there weren’t any Hilton hotels near the safe zone arranged by my client, I chose Maison Lienne. Initially, my thinking was simple: just find a place to sleep. After all, it was just a business trip, so I didn’t have high expectations for Egyptian hotels.
Unexpectedly, the experience completely exceeded my expectations.
First of all, the owners and their friend were incredibly welcoming. It wasn’t the kind of overly insistent service; they treated me like family, helping me with anything I needed immediately. For someone traveling alone abroad for work, this feeling is truly precious.
I stayed here for a month, and it was precisely because of this extended stay that I was able to truly appreciate what a hotel is like. The room was consistently clean and comfortable, allowing me to rest well every day after get off work—it felt like coming home.
What surprised me most was the Chinese food.
I believe many people who frequently travel abroad for work can relate: the hardest part isn’t the work itself, but the food. Maison Lienne truly catered to my Chinese palate perfectly. The Chinese food here wasn’t just simple stir-fries; it genuinely tasted like home. During my month-long stay, I ate different home-style dishes almost every day, and I never got tired of it. The Chinese chef at Maison Lienne truly satisfied my Chinese stomach.
Besides, I’m someone who regularly exercises and has high standards for my diet. Knowing my dietary habits, the hotel would tailor each meal to my needs, such as increasing high-quality protein, controlling oil and salt, and including vegetables—it was incredibly thoughtful. Being able to maintain my dietary plan while abroad was especially touching.
In a foreign country, a hotel is more than just a place to sleep; it’s like a temporary home. Maison Lienne gave me not only a comfortable accommodation environment but also the warmth of fellow countrymen.
I will definitely choose to stay here again when I’m in Cairo for business. For Chinese people, especially those who need to stay long-term or travel for business, I highly recommend this place. After all, comfortable accommodation, delicious food, and a home-like feeling are more important than a few stars on the hotel list.
If you are a friend from another country, you are also welcome to come here and experience Chinese culture and home-style cooking.
