This hotel has the worst service on the rooftop. The man working there, with the short beard, is a terribly rude, apathetic, and lazy worker in Giza. The drinks are warm (like Diet Coke), the coffee is half empty, and he is generally rude and has a lack of care. There was 8 of us and he couldn’t care to bring us water once we ordered it. There are many, much better places in Giza. Follow the reviews.
The real Giza. The hotel is tucked away between the shops, the little mini market next door with the friendly owner ideal for room snacks and ATM’s a two minute walk away. If you want a sterile hotel where you’re sealed away from the locals this isn’t for you .
Our room was clean, reasonably modern and comfortable with a rainfall shower. Slightly disappointed with the tiny window but not all rooms can have a view. We did have to be proactive seeking things like replacement toilet rolls and the room wasn’t made up or cleaned during our two night stay. The staff are friendly and helpful , especially the lady on reception.
Breakfast is a fairly limited affair and continental / Egyptian in style, there are boiled eggs and Falafel but otherwise no cooked. There is however a fullsome dinner menu but note they only accept cash, no cards, no putting on your room number.
Leaving the best until last it’s the view of the pyramids and sphinx from the rooftop restaurant that really sells this hotel, it is absolutely stunning especially when the nearby mosque has its call to prayer, it is real Egypt.
A family room, most of the lights the bulbs didnt work so it was quite dingy because the only window had a view of a wall, and the curtain was hanging off too. Only 2 shower towels provided and 2 hand towels, when asked for more, we didnt get them and the lights were not fixed either. So for a family of 4 this wasnt well received.
Breakfast was catered for non english, and only 1 boiled egg provided, very poor. I would not recommend staying. It was not a good location in Cairo.
Solid hotel, but don’t expect much for the price. Our room did not have a proper window (just very small one, the curtains are faking window). The room was clean. The cleaning staff did take away dirty towels after the first night, but did not bring back clean. We had to ask for the towels at the reception. The safe was brought into the room upon request, but wasn’t really connected (they gave us master key to lock it).
The dinner, while okay, had terrible problems with communication. Both nights we asked for a soup, both times we were ignored, and only on the second night they brought it later.
The worst thing was the noise one night at 00.30am in the hallway. I woke up to almost shouting and in the moment of night and it scared me. It took me a while to realize it is just people being very noisy. Also the soundproofing could be better.
