I have been a loyal SIXT customer since 2010, but my recent experience with SIXT Egypt (Apr 01–Apr 13, 2026) was a textbook case of contractual breach and gross negligence. I strongly advise potential customers—especially business travelers—to avoid their services in Egypt.

The Reality of “Premium” Service at SIXT Egypt:
    • Zero Roadside Assistance: Despite paying for a premium rate that included Roadside Protection (BC), the vehicle (Subaru Crosstrek) malfunctioned on Apr 07. SIXT provided NO on-site support. Instead, they forced me to drive 1.5 hours to a third-party service center (Fit & Fix) to diagnose the car myself.
    • Safety Hazards: After a failed diagnostic, agents suggested a major engine dynamo issue. Despite the risk to my safety and business schedule, SIXT refused to exchange the faulty vehicle, forcing me to continue using a compromised car.
    • Contested & Improper Charges: After returning the car, I was hit with an unauthorized ~$133 charge for a “scratched rim.” This is legally and contractually baseless because:
    1. My contract explicitly included Tire & Windshield Protection (TG).
    2. The checkout report already documented pre-existing damage to the rims.
Legal & Professional Failure: Their actions violate both Egyptian Consumer Protection laws and SIXT’s own global service standards. They failed to provide the “Peace of Mind” promised by their insurance packages and ignored the documented condition of the vehicle at pickup.

Verdict: If you value your safety, your time, and your money, do not rent from SIXT Egypt. They are quick to collect premium fees but fail to honor their contractual obligations when service is actually needed.

I am currently seeking a full refund and compensation for the disruption to my professional commitments.

    Avoid at all costs.

Such an easy and smooth experience renting with Sixt at Cairo Airport. Booking online was simple, the price was great, and the vehicle we got for 8 days was perfect for our trip.

Communication from the team was excellent from start to finish, always available on WhatsApp 24/7, which made everything feel stress-free. Even though our flight was delayed, the team was waiting for us at the airport and took their time to explain everything clearly.

A huge shoutout to Mr. Fady Karam who was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout. Also big thanks to Ayman who handled the early morning car return just before our flight so smoothly.

The whole process felt seamless and very professional. Everything is documented and you have full visibility at every step, which I really appreciated. Honestly so impressed with how advanced and organised the system is.

Huge thank you to the entire team, highly recommended!

I did 2 rentals in late Dec 2025. Both pick-ups were smooth but a bit slow, took around 30 mins at the counter before I could move to the car. However, staff was friendly and helpful so it was fine. Deposit was your excess in USD (depending on the insurance package chosen) + USD150, the payment was through a link sent to email so only credit card can do but not cash.

The first rental I got a Peugeot 3008 for 6 days. It was a very good car without any problem. I returned it in Aswan Airport with an one-way fee of USD275 (excluding 14% tax).

The second rental was again 6 days but I got a free upgrade from Peugeot 3008 to Peugeot 5008. When I got the car, fuel was at around 7/8 but it’s okay. However, when I arrived at Siwa and refueled the car, the fuel bar on dashboard wouldn’t return to full position. I was suspecting the gas station was playing some tricks for my money, so I confronted them. They injected more fuel to the car and I could see fuel overflowing from the inlet now – the bar still didn’t move. Then I realized it was the problem of the car, although it was not a big deal as I refueled to full again before I left Siwa. Around 1-2 days later, the indication was back to normal so I guess it’s a intermittent fault may be on the sensors. Also the parking sensors of the car were not working, but it wasn’t a problem for me as I’m not relying on them.

Overall, it was a good experience although the rental prices were high compared to the cost of living in Egypt.
