Enterprise Rent-A-Car

FRA TERMINAL 3…
Don’t expect to pick up your car early or drop it off outside of business hours with ease. The signage and lack of communication in the terminal 3 garage was virtually non-existent at 4am. No one in sight. It took us and another couple a trip back to the garage to drop keys in a little drawer that pulls out. The drop box says you need a code that none of us have. Google says to call 24 hours a day. You call and it’s says the office is closed in Terminal 3!!! Really???
Wow!! Does nobody care? People that travel want simple. Not drama. Not waiting 2 hours to pick up a car you prepaid for. Not being screwed on gas fill-ups. None of it!

I recently rented a car from Enterprise at the Cairo Airport through their “meet and greet” service, and unfortunately my experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Prior to my rental date, I clearly communicated that I would be using the car for a long road trip and needed a vehicle in excellent condition. Despite this, the car provided had over 120,000 km, something I was not informed about beforehand. Had I known, I would have requested an upgrade or made a different decision.

Within 30 minutes of driving, the car developed a CV joint knocking sound, which is a serious safety concern. When I contacted the office, the situation became even more frustrating. I was told there were no available cars except one with 160,000+ km, which I refused. I spent the entire night and next morning, from 9 PM until 10 AM, on multiple calls with four different representatives, receiving inconsistent information. One promised a free upgrade, another insisted I must pay for it, then reversed his statement after learning what the previous agent said.

This delay affected not only my plans but also my family’s travel schedule. Eventually, at 10 AM, a replacement car was delivered to my home, and that vehicle was finally suitable for my trip.

At the end of the rental, I asked if the car could be picked up from my home since I had no transportation back to the meet-and-greet location. My home was only about 10 minutes away, yet the request was refused. When I returned the car, I was surprised to be charged for one missing fuel bar from the first defective car, despite the significant inconvenience and safety issues I had endured. The staff insisted I pay it.

Overall, this was a highly disappointing experience, marked by poor communication, lack of transparency, and inadequate customer care. I will most likely not rent from Enterprise Cairo again.

The staff is extremely rude and
unprofessional. Furthermore, they insist on a Egyptian driving license even if you hold an international or foreign one, whereas other rental companies accept it without any issues
